Are Genetically Modified Foods Safe?

 

Foods resulting from genetically modified plants have already been introduced into the food supply in some countries, including the United States and those in Europe. But not everyone thinks these foods are safe. You have been appointed to research and report to a special Food and Drug Administration board about these foods. After researching and reading articles about these foods decide for yourself: Are genetically modified foods safe?

 

Activity

 

• Using your notes, Campbell's textbook (Concepts and Connections) and additional sources (print or internet) students will form a position on the use of GMO's.
• Each student will form an opinion and write a wiki page detailing their perspective based on their research.
• Support your position using articles and published research.
• A citation page should be included.
• Your wiki page will be due: Wednesday February 27, 2008.
